SCSSA Innovative Circles

Innovative Circles (iCircles) are small groups of social studies teachers dedicated to sharing and learning best practices on how to teach social studies to their students. Teachers bring a strategy and/or a lesson they have developed and used successfully in their classrooms along with hard or digital copies of any handouts or supporting material to share, as well as examples of student work (if possible). Each teacher will make a brief (~15 minute) presentation and share handouts with the other members of their iCircle. Certification for Professional Development Hours can be offered. The iCircles will meet in several regions in Southern CA served by the SCSSA. Each iCircle meeting is restricted to 12 educators maximum. An iCircle Coordinator is responsible for certifying attendance and reporting what was shared at the meeting to the SCSSA for publication on the SCSSA website at www.mysocialstudies.org. Please RSVP as soon as possible to the contact person listed by each event to reserve your space in your local iCircle meeting.
iCircle groups are scheduled to meet from 4:15-5:30pm
